going to costa rica with android phone

We going to Costa Rica for a week and I like to know if Android and Verizon would provide same coverage and GPS like in US.
 
To be honest, this is more of a question for Verizon. They should be able to provide coverage and roaming information. There may be additional and excessive charges should you use your phone in unfamiliar territory if you use your phone normally.

Give them a bell. They should have a couple of options.
