Help Goldish Liquid - Galaxy S6

KazKuzin

Lurker
Just trying to figure something out with my phone, i have a feeling its something bad as i'm sure this doesn't happen on many other phones but the problem is that recently this goldish liquid (i think) has come out from the corner of the screen and is sitting under the back layer of glass on my phone.

it'd be nice to know what this is and how to deal with it. thanks :)

sorry for the quality as this photo was taken from my computer

A liquid? There's no liquids actually inside an S6 AFAIK. Does it behave like a liquid, and moving around? Could it be that the front glass has separated from the backing? Has the phone been excessively hot at any time?

Can't see too much from your picture, Maybe try and post a more detailed close-up, might give us a better idea of what it could be.

Looks like you've cracked your screen underneath the screen protector to me... If it's working now, back up anything you need... Its probably not going to be working Very soon

If the edge of the "liquid" is jagged, then I'd say Mike was close in that the screen has separated from the phone body and damaged the LCD screen underneath the glass. The gold color is probably a failure of blue circuitry.

and yes it does sort of behave like a liquid, if i squish it under the back glass of the phone it spreads out and when i release the pressure it goes back to its original position. yes it has over heated a few time with apps such as snapchat, netflix etc. the phones functions or usability havent been effected by it.
if you need a better photo or to know more please do let me know :)

Can see the SAMSUNG logo, so this is the glass back? I'm still thinking that the glass has separated and what you see squishing and spreading is the adhesive. Possibly that corner came into contact with something that was very hot? Has it been in a hot car in the sun, any hot-plates or things like that? May not be the phone overheating caused it, because I believe the CPU and logic-board is towards the top on the S6, and this is at the bottom corner.

Did suddenly appear or gradually appear? To fix if it has come unstuck, would be Samsung service agent probably.

Yes it did appear randomly and no it hasnt been on a hot place lately. When my phone over heats it gets hot all over not just up the top of the phone. I tried taking it in and the people i gave it to had it for a week and they said they couldnt figure out what was wrong and couldnt replace the phone as the warranty has expired on it.
