Good cheap Android tablet?

I've been looking for an Android tablet under $300 and was able to test quite a few at a local electronic store. Are there any you all would recommend?

Hi there, I'm moving this to our Device/Carrier Comparisons - Android Forums forum since this is looking for recommendations.

My take on your question: The only Android Tablet I've ever owned is the Nexus 7 (2012). I just saw an article this morning about some of the issues with the new N7. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole until the issues were sorted out. I adopted the old N7 not too long after launch; it didn't even last 3-4 months (screen cracked and I still am not sure how). My second one has lasted me way longer than that.

Summary: If you're considering the new N7, wait a few months before buying so that these bigger issues can be sorted out

I've been checking out cheap tablets for awhile and the top ones seem to be the new Nexus 7, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, the Kindle Fire HD and the one that I purchased (but haven't received yet), the Asus Memo Pad HD 7.

I have a T-Mobile Samsung 7.0+ and just got my girlfriend a Hisense Sero 7 Pro. The Sero seems to be quite nice so far; it's hard to beat at $129 for a WiFi tablet.

for <$300 you have many options i think..
Asus prime is "cheap" now. Even go lower, asus eepad slide (the keyboard is built-in).
Or if don't mind the size but very useful, the "old" Toshiba thrive; it has all regular size connection/connector (usb, hdmi, memory card, etc...).
