Good contract vs bad carrier

at the moment im thinking that VP are too expensive for me ( as a kid still ) so , i am moving towards the o2 - but how are o2?

just want to know how o2 are on their customer service
signal and mobilenetwork speeds
do they give SIM free phones?
bloatware on the phone
and most importantly update roll out?

also, the deal is an online exclusive. i trust the site (tesco.com) but will i face any problems because of this?

many many thanks

Hi, I've got an SGS2 on o2 (tesco mobile) and their customer service isn't brilliant im afraid, but ive had bad dealings with all the networks apart from vodafone :o
Unfortunately both the android phones ive had from o2 (LG Optimus 3D and my current SGS2) have been locked on o2, but you can also use Tesco Mobile and giff gaff sim cards in locked o2 phones if you so wish.
On the positive side, no bloatware! Neither of my phones had any indication they were from o2...(well possibly deep down in settings somewhere maybe )
Update wise, im still waiting for the ICS update for my SGS2, and it feels like ive been waiting forever..... :( Not impressed.

Hope this helps.

Ian

Is there a possibility to debrand the phone after I buy it so that I can get updates directly from HTC?

There are unbranded RUU's, I'm not sure if it's the same process as it was for the DHD (GoldCard & RUU). Even then, your CID would still be network branded so you couldn't get the unbranded OTA's.

Pre Hack Kit, when you had to downgrade and root via ADB, the tool which gave you S-OFF changed the CID.

I'm not sure if there's a way on the One X, looking through the dev threads via XDA, it would appear not.

alright - well my chances of getting hold of a One X are pretty much done , but thanks for looking !
