Good external battery for Note 10.1?

So I have a Note 10.1, and I love it, but it seems that barring the actual wall charger, using it with any kind of external battery is REALLY slow. I had purchased this because it was a nice high capacity pack and had a built in micro-usb cable, which of course I didn't know DOESNT work on the original Note 10.1.

Amazon.com: PowerGen 9000mAh External Battery Pack High Capacity Power Bank Charger Dual USB output (w/imbedded Micro USB) for Apple iPhone 5s 5c 5 4S 4 3GS, iPad Air Mini 2 3 4 [Lightning Cable NOT included]/ Samsung S4 S3 S2 / Moto G X / Google Nex

But ok, no prob, I got a extra cable when I got it. But man, does it charge it slow, I know the red X means its a slow charge, but in a good 25 minutes it only charged it maybe 3%. And I figure the 2A output port would work better. But then again, it is a 7K battery in this tablet, so that might count for something too. But I'm just wondering if there are any external batteries that do have a port for this type of power draw?

Does your Note 10.1 uses a proprietary connector? I'm a bit confused since you mentioned micro-usb didn't work with it?

All these batteries use the same controller and "lego" components to build them up. Every 6 months a new more efficient one comes out. I did mention to you, getting the latest Anker will re-assure you have the latest smart charging port that will pump the current up to 2.4A per port. You got 2+ year old technology battery which most likely not even sourcing 2A from that port. And it probably has 65%-70% efficiency (versus new stuff from Anker and others with 80% and higher efficiency) which means you have only less than 6000 mAh of an actual charge in that battery.

My honest opinion, if you are within return window - send it back. IMHO, saving $5-$10 buying an old outdated technology is not worth it.

Yeah, the Note 10.1 has its own plug. Honestly, the battery pack is more for my Note 2, but I figured it could work nicely with the tablet as well, and I guess it does, just rather slowly. I guess nothing charges as fast as plugging it into the wall. I would wonder then, what are some of the top end current power packs?

I ran across this same problem with some aftermarket chargers, cables and a USB-SD Card adaptor. The tablet seems to have problems with some aftermarket accessories. Don't know what Samsung does with their proprietary equipment but some aftermarket accessories just don't work with their 30 pin plug setup even though they do have a plug that fits.
