Good news for Yongzh emulator users

Krislawl

Newbie
I contacted Yongzh and got some pretty happy news for everyone who is using his emulators and is looking for a new control input. :)

-Please mind my mspaint combining and censoring of some stuff, I didn't want to get some virtual pizzas mailed to me. :P

I also contacted him about file extension support so running a rom file loads the rom in its proper emulator. That way you can put Astro shortcuts to your favorite games on your home screen instead of having to launch the emulator then search through to find your game.

He seemed to like the idea :)

this guy listens, when he first bought out nesoid with the ghost logo, i suggested he did a nes pad as the icon and kinda use the pad icon as his theme for the emulators.

Ugh I can't wait because I only can use the NES emulator from him because no multi touch or anything :( Any word on it so far?

I received the automatic updates for both Snesoid and Gameboid on my Nexus One this morning :) Has multi-touch and also onscreen Y/B buttons for the Snes and A/B buttons for the GBA so check it out!!!

Not sure how having onscreen Y/B is any good without X/A, but aside from that:

Overall decent. I'll probably use the onscreen controls for GBCoid and Gameboid, but I'll stick to the keyboard for the others. onscreen dpad just not precise enough for platformers.

On the Nexus One I use the Back button for X and the Search button for A. I would much much rather use a keyboard because the onscreen dpad isn't as responsive as I'd like it to be :D

Also I'm not sure if this is just happening to me, but I've noticed a strange bug. In any Snes game I try, if a direction on the dpad is held down while pressing the X or A button, the result is as if I had pressed the B button. So for example if I were playing Super Mario World and running to the right, pressing the A button to do a spin jump would just cause me to do a regular jump (B button.) On the other hand if nothing on the dpad is being pressed at all, the X and A buttons work just fine. Very strange.

ok i got the paid version of Nesoid, i have FF2.nes file on my SD card but when i try to play, it just shows me a black/blank screen. when i go to open/load file it sees the .nes file on the SD card but will not play the game, this is same problem i have with all .nes roms and those are supposed to be the ones for the NESoid emu right? i would imagine SNes would be diff ext on the rom files.

any help much appreciated. now i ahve to dig up the disc with all of my NES/SNes/GBA Roms on it
