Good small smartphone (Galaxy Ace alternative)

Hey all
I'm looking for recommendations on a small smartphone. My wife has the galaxy ace and she is happy with it except that the internal storage is so minute she can't use it for everything she wants (and that includes moving most apps to sd card). So, she doesn't need that much power, more internal storageand just a good all round device. Any ideas?
Thanks

Alan

I moved your post here as you will get more comparisons here for what you are asking. Cheers ;)

How about the newer Galaxy Ace or the Galaxy S Advance? The new Galaxy Ace 2 has a 3GB internal memory, good enough for many apps.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those. I'm a bit hesitant on the ace purely due the frustrations I've had with my wife's one. With its 3GB internal, is that all for OS or will that be split for OS and internal storage. I ask as the problem I have now with the ace is due to the space for OS (with cache) which is 120MB or something like that.

Depends. I can't remember what it ships with (Gingerbread or ICS). If its with ICS it has the entire 3GB as a single drive, with about 2.5GB available storage for apps and or media. You can put an external SD card in it up to about 32GB anyway for media, so just keep the phone storage for apps and the media on the SD card. If it ships with Gingerbread, its probably gonna have 1.8GB alloted for app installations with the remaining 1GB for internal storage of stuff.
