Live Scores isn't a widget, but imo it is the best option for checking scores. You could try sports tap and the espn widgets, but neither really worked for me.
For instance I had sports tap set on the shortest interval to update me and it never did when it was supposed to. I would get a score update randomly every 30 mins or so.
