Google Calendar and Tasks

Does anybody find it a little odd that the stock calendar app on Android doesn't integrate the calendar tasks? I find that to be incredibly annoying. I use google calendar tasks for everything from reminders to my school assignments. Anybody have any idea why this is? Because it seems like a no-brainer to me to have this feature.

i don't use "Tasks". why? i like to put a specific time and date on tasks which need to be done. this way it gives me a specific deadline to get it done. otherwise - the tasks could possibly become neglected, postponed, and put off. putting the task as an event on the calendar with a specific date and time forces me to get it done. also - "Tasks" is redundant and makes me look at extraneous superfluous collection of information when Calendar alone centralizes that data for me in one location/view/area.

Jorte does, in fact, sync with google tasks. It has great functionality and UI as well. Definitely using this from now on.

Still. Any ideas on why Google's own app doesn't do this? I still find it perplexing.

I use Tasks. Current setup is Pure Calendar which syncs with Google Calendar and Astrid tasks, and Astrid syncs with Google Tasks.
