Help Google calendar doesn't sync

I just got a new phone and I have added my Google account and I have downloaded the Google calendar app. But the problem is that only one of the many calendars I have on my account shows up on the Google calendar app, I didn't have this problem when I got a new Ipad. I don't know how to fix this, I have looked at this post https://androidforums.com/threads/added-calendar-to-google-calendars-not-appearing-on-phone.482992/

but the sync button doesn't appear.
What should I do? Thanks in advance!

The stock Google calendar or a different app?

Try this (should be similar no matter what app really). Open the calendar app, click the menu/3 bars, you should see your Google account listed and below that should be all your calendars. Make sure each one you want to show is selected, back out/close the app and that should trigger a refresh (it may take a few minutes) then everything should show.

When I go to the Google calendar website all of my calendars show up as you can see in the first screenshot, however when I visit the Google calendar app only one of the calendars show up instead of all of them as you can see I the second screenshot.

Just FYI that when I add an item to my google calendar (stock app), it takes a small amount of time to sync and show up on the calendar, say 1 minute. I don't think is a bug. I used to think the stock calendar didn't really add items to my google calendar until I realized this so I thought I'd share.

I'm no expert but just to confirm, (this may sound redundant but...) you've added all the desired calendars in your Settings > General > Accounts?

Oh, because I forgot an important step. After you pull the menu up you'll need to click on settings, you should see your calendars there and should be able to click them. From there you should be able to sync them.

When I go to settings I can only see the "school" calendar and when I click it there is no sync button.

What phone and Android version? Rooted?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the calendar app?

I'm running out of stuff! Hopefully someone else knows what is going on or has other ideas.

It's a non rooted Oneplus 6 with Android 8.1 and HydrogenOS 5.1.11, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app but the it doesn't fix the problem.
