Google Calendar - Help?

How should I move 10 years of calendar information to my Google Gmail account?

Currently using Outlook 2003, HTC Incredible (no calendar info yet); old phone was Palm Centro.

Ready to take the plunge but do I move all calendar data at once? Someone mentioned copying everything until this year and placing it in an archive calendar? Have no idea how to do this. And I want/need to be able to see (and search) on all my old data.

Lost with Google calendar...help please?

Thanks.

Thanks! But a follow up question. So it is best to have a Google calendar for each year? Still not quite sure I understand how Google calendars work, but I would like to have "all" my calendar data on my phone. Will this be a pain having 10 or eventually 20 or more calendars?

Help? And thanks for the reply...very much appreciated.

You can have has many calendars as you like on Google / your phone. Calendars should be seperated by category not by year. What they mean is export from your current calendar a year at a time so that the file is not too big.

It won't transfer all the info to your phone, only the upcoming events. You can still search all events through the cloud though.

I used to use outlook so my calendar was broken up per year anyway as it would get too slow if I tried to have it all in one. I uploaded each year's ics file to google and a few events didn't import as google is limited in the way it handels re-occuring events.
But if you have a lot of data within those 10 years I'd advise not putting it all into one calendar as mine syncs pretty slow now.

And are you saying the past events are NOT on the phone? That I have to search via the web for this? Please say this is not true...

No they would be there, you would just have to switch calenders. I use calwidget to view different calenders on my home screen. See here:

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

Yes, I loaded all mine into one, have events going back to the late 80's. Its a pain to scroll back that far on the phone though.
