Help Google calendar not syncing

My Droid Pro does not seem to sync google accounts (particularly calendar) on its own. If I go into Menu > Settings > Accounts I can force a sync, which works fine. But i'd prefer if the app synced as soon as I made any changes or at least once daily.

I cannot find a setting to do this.

A potential problem may be that I am using the DP without a data plan. But I don't think this should be a big issue, since there are settings to sync only over WIFI anyway for those with limited data plans.

Any help would be appreciated.

Isn't there a menu path similar to: menu > settings > accounts and sync > autosync (or some such wording, "sync automatically"), a check box?

No such menu path on my phone.

What carrier are you on? This has only been released on verizon and you must have a data plan. No idea if this stuff works without a data plan.
