Google Calendar - sync phone and pc?

ByeIOS

Newbie
I hope that I've followed the on-line instructions correctly https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/151674?hl=en but the sync hasn't taken place.

What I've done;
  1. Downloaded the Google Calendar app to my phone and to my PC
  2. Put a stack of things in my calendar on my phone.
The things that I've put into my phone calendar don't show on my PC. If I put something in my PC calendar and click refresh on my phone, the entry pops up. It just doesn't seem to work in the other direction. I guess I'm missing something fairly basic here!

I've got Windows 10 on my PC and the phone is a Galaxy S7.

Can anyone help?

You have to go into Settings, phone and PC, and make sure that both are set to Sync, and the frequency at which you wish them to sync.

The Sync process is NOT instantaneous, IIRC the "window" is about 10 minutes...

I have tested it over and over, and it always works, just not "right now".

FWIW, the Google calendar is the only one that is reliable... and I have tried everyone of them in the Play Store.

Hello AZgl1500 and many thanks for your post. Got it! I was expecting something instantaneous but once you realise that it's about 10 minutes it works OK. I've found that I can click 'refresh' on my phone that seems to speed it up a bit.

I've got my calendars synced now, which is great.
