Google Chat on XP and Atrix 4G...

When I login to gmail on my computer I can make calls to anyone in the USA and Canada from my PC for free, but when I go to my gmail account on the browser for my Atrix 4G the option isn't even available for Google chat... why is this? Shouldn't the picture of the page be the exact same for both systems?

No, they are not the same. The "call phone" feature in gmail on the desktop isn't the same as what you get on your phone, as far as the chat goes. There is a Google Talk app on your phone, but again, you do not have the "call phone" option in it.

Well this is the official android site for googles mobile so you would think that asking it here would be asking google.

No, this isn't the "official android site for googles mobile". You could try asking on Google's help forums here:

Google Mobile Help

There are guides out there using programs / services like sipgate to accomplish voip on your Android phone, but nothing "out of the box" lets you do that. Since I don't need this, I haven't invested the time in researching all the ins and outs of voip with an Android phone.

Seems as if I've been browsing the wrong forum this entire time... thanks for the info, though. :)
