google contacts sync settings?

I have a nokia 5800 now, and my htc Incredible is on order. I am trying to get my calendar and contacts syncd to google (thats a whole other deal).

My question is that I have 400+ contacts in my cell now, I have a separate 180 in my gmail account. Can I pic and choose who gets syncd to my phone? I don't need every person I ever e-mailed in my cell contacts.

yeah, in gmail, you can separate contacts into groups. Ie, friends, family, coworkers... and then select from the phone which group you want sync'd. You also have the ability to check the option "Only sync contacts with phone numbers" which will eliminate all contacts with only an email address. Hope this helps...
