I'm using a stock Sprint HTC Hero and if I dial a number and call it, then go to save the number to my Google Contacts, it won't save (well, it's not visible in my People, but it has saved because if I dial the number again the label for the number [name] comes up); but if I go to save the number to my Phone's Memory, it will save. Is there any workaround to this besides entering it in on a PC at Gmail?
