Google+ data use!

Yesterday google+ used 1.37gb data in the background.... Photo and vid back ups are set to wifi only and I had nothing to back up anyways. I was not using my phone, I talked to verizon so I know the exact time it happened too... I read somewhere (can't find it now) that this was happening to others randomly... Happen to anyone here? I'm on galaxy s5...

Happened to me a couple of months ago, G+ used 60MB in an afternoon, only found out because CMCC sent me a SMS about using an unusually high amount of data that day. I disabled background data for it, as I don't need to know in real time what everyone is "checking in" or whatever. In fact I've subsequently removed G+ completely, and only use it from a browser. If it used 1.37GB in a day, then there's something seriously wrong.

Known issue since the app has existed. Don't use it or block background data for it to prevent issues.
