Google Drive backup

Hello guys !

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and I will switch to another phone soon, and I want to keep all my settings, apps etc... I found that Google Drive can backup a lot of things including "App Data", saying it can restore "backup settings and data".

My question is simple : if I restore a full backup of my Galaxy S7 on my other phone, will it be the exact same or will I have to go though all my apps to do some settings ?

If you have a Google account and have automatic backup set, Google will backup all your settings, apps and accounts stored under your account. Yes Google drive is a good place to store your stuff in it's cloud service.

You might get a more comprehensive 'full' backup using Samsung's Smart Switch utility. Install it on a Windows or Mac, and use it to backup your current phone. The Google backup/restore is focused mostly on the phone's Settings and Google app data, not necessarily all your other apps and such.
