Google Drive Storage in the UK

El Presidente

Beware The Milky Pirate!
Does anyone pay for additional Google Drive storage in the UK?

How much does the 100GB package cost? It's displaying $4.99 for me, which equates to about

Buy a Chromebook? ;)
Sorry, stupid answer. But between it and my Moto G, I've gotten 150Gb free. :)

I don't imagine spoofing your ISP would help (or even be legal)?

How does spoofing location help when it's the BANK that charges the foreign transaction fees? The bank won't know or care what location you SAY you're using, you're using a UK bank to buy from a US company that is only selling the "product" in the US, the bank will levy a FTF no matter how you slice it. Same would apply if the OP were to come State-side and make the same transaction through the same bank.

Based on the disclaimer here it looks as though Google doesn't price for the individual countries, leaving it up to the customer's bank or credit card to charge foreign transaction fees and exchange rates.

Ok... i just went into google mail... and clicked on the extra storage link to see what it would charge me per month..

Currency fluctuations, bank fees and applicable taxes may change your final amount.

so it looks as if you're dealing with Google USA. And its your bank thats going to add the extra.

So unless you find a 'nice' bank you're stuck....

Is it extra google storage you need? or just general easy cloud storage?

Yeah, all I can find suggests it will charge you in dollars.

I got 25GB free of dropbox storage with my last but one handset upgrade last year, with referrals, I'm up to 44GB on dropbox with 37GB used. The 25GB expires in April so I'm kinda goosed for storage options.

I am pretty very lazy so I'm looking for something with the ease of use of dropbox (I take a picture and it uploads instantly).

Box offers pretty decent pricing in pounds stirling, but last I checked it didn't have the auto upload feature.
Sugarsync is relatively pricey for the storage they offer and again, it's in dollars.
Copy autouploads, pricing is great, but it's in dollars.
Dropbox does all I need, but it's the most expensive and again, pricing is in dollars.

Any other suggestions?

The integration between your Android devices and Google storage can't be much better. As long as you have your photos set to auto backup, they just upload plus you get the "Auto Awesome" if you take several similar shots in quick succession. You actually don't see your photos in your Drive account, plus if they're smaller than 2048x2048 they get stored FREE.

Jah, the only issue with using Google is that my bank will charge extra me every time my card is billed.

As with many google services, they don't do a good enough job in the other countries. Microsoft made a joke about it too. I even laughed.
