Google Earth Problem

I recently uninstalled Google Earth from my HTC Incredible in an attempt to save memory space, but I quickly discovered that a lot of other apps use Google Earth. I decided to reinstall it, which went fine, but everytime I hit the icon to open the app, it Force Closes on me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a few times since with the same result. Any ideas?

Did you have to root to uninstall?

I don't know of any application that "requires" Google Earth to be installed.
