I am in the UK and have used Google Hangouts to call numbers in the USA over arrangements for my upcoming holiday. These are all shown as free calls. When I try to phone a UK landline it is shown as charging 1p per minute and for UK mobiles it is 3p per minute. I thought that wifi calls would be free? Why and how is it charging? I was hoping to use Hangouts while in the US to phone local numbers (restaurants etc) using wifi. Will this still be free? As you can tell, I haven't got the hang of Google Hangouts yet!
