Is it all the time or just when using the keyboard? It's normal for there to be a "select input method" while using the keyboard. Is that what you're seeing?
Oh now that you mention it, I do only see it when I'm typing. But why though? I would think if I've already selected it once I wouldn't keep seeing it.
