Google leaving China; Impact on Android?

Well it looks like Google may leave China, and at the very least this will create a chilly climate for Google to do business there. But what will this mean for Android?

I know very little about the mobile phone market in China, but I was certainly hoping for a lot of extra coders/moders to take up Android in the most populous country in the world.

It shoud not affect Android too much. HTC who make some of the devices are in Tiawan - an independant republic that is friendly to the west. China insists it belongs to them but it does not.

I was actually more curious about whether or not this would keep Android out of the hands of consumers in China. I hadn't thought of the manufacturing angle, but this might foul up some builders too. Anyone know if any of the current Android handsets are built on mainland China?

It will make it tougher to get an Android device with lead coating.
