Google Listen Question

How can I tell what has and has not bee downloaded? I see options to add to my download queue subscribe...but no option to see what's in the queue or manage what's been downloaded.

Thanks.

I agree that it would be nice to have a window to let you manage your downloaded Podcasts. See if it fully downloaded and delete it if you've listened and don't want it fillign up your SD card anymore and perhaps even mark certain ones to keep.

That said I think Google is trying to keep it simpler. The logic being that you shouldn't have to worry about what's been downloaded or not - If it's downloaded good it'll always play regardless of Network status, but if not downloaded just stream it over the network.

A few other suggestions for those new to Listen though:

  1. - If you want a podcast to download - so that you can listen to it later when you might not have a good network connection - 2 things you can do: #1 In settings, Select "Automatic Downloads", #2 When looking at a specific episode press Menu and then "Download".
  2. - If you want to ensure if a specific episode is downloaded or delete it - while in that episode select Menu and see if it offers to "Remove Download"
  3. - If your SD card is getting full and you want to Delete all downloaded podcasts at the Listen Home press Menu and "settings" then "Clear Cache".

Finally I'll offer my approach to all this: I have a bout 10 Subscriptions and Automatic Download on. I let those download overnight while on WIFI and charging, then I listen to them during the day and then I Clear Cache at the end of the day or when done listening to anything I really wanted to. This clear up space on my SD Card for the next batch. Before starting this routine I was filling up my SD card just with podcasts. We'll to be fair it was pretty full already.

Hope this helps.
