Google is reportedly getting ready to enter the Virtual Reality world in full force. A source with The Financial Times states that Google is looking to take on Samsung's Gear VR, and we should learn more about these endeavors at Google I/O 2016.
The device would probably end up in the Nexus lineup of products, and would be geared towards providing a base for developers to test their ideas and applications.
