google map help please

Hi im hooklink
I have got a new HTC wildfire im trying to find out if it is possible to search google maps from either a address or a post code with in a email.Quite a bit of my work is done with emails which contain addresses which i need to go to it would help if the address could be automaticaly high lighted with the oppsion to search google maps direct from high lighted address or post code.I could do it on my old iphone but the android does not seem to reconise addresses or post codes

The Wildfire came with 2.1 I believe? Is that what you are running? Perhaps this is a limitation?

I'm on a version of 2.2 and can simply click on a properly formatted address in Gmail and maps launches with the location.

Hmmm, works on my evo using the Gmail app. Just highlight the address, then hit Map. Are you using the Gmail app or the Mail app?
