google maps app problem

Ever since I updated the app to the most recent version I can't use the Wikipedia layer, it lets me add the layer but doesn't allow me to access the information. Any ideas?

Try uninstalling and re-installing.

I've searched online and found that quite a few others are having the same issue and are not getting any explanations, could someone do me a favour and confirm whether it is or isn't working on your desire please.
