Google maps issue

It was bothering me for a long time that Google maps switches from vector to tiles when zooming out beyond a certain level, I think the reason for this is to preserve system memory, since it happens only on heavily detailed cities, the problem is that the tiles are very low resolution, and actually maps before that vector update was more usable, does this happen on certain phones only, and is there a solution for it??

See if another map app provides more detail of the location you need.
