Google Maps/Navigation Issues

Make sure GPS is enabled or delete and reinstall. I've never had this problem but similar. Usually you get a message that maps requires GPS, but you never know. Good luck.

also atip on the gps. i used it on my last trip, works liek a charm however if your in a city and goign really slow or lots of stop goes for short distence. you may get lost. without moving a certian distence every time my gps just kinda lost where i was.

I've found when it gets stuck looking for location, I restart the phone and it works again. Not very convenient but it works.

On a related note:

Before this last update, I never had any problems with Google Maps, worked great and accuracy on my location was within three meters.

Now, I get the same problem acquiring GPS described above, plus my accuracy is crap-it varies from 8 to 300 meters. I was in Seattle on business last week sitting in an outdoor cafe when I opened up maps to check something. Google had me in a restaurant across the street!
Also gave me trouble when I voiced an address.
I miss the old version.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What phone are you using?

There are a number of posts around about problems with GPS on the SGS. One I've run across too (don't remember where at the moment...maybe on XDA) about putting on a new firmware/ROM (from MoDaCO) that fixes this and a few other problems.
