Google Maps - No turn by turn Nav for Saved Maps?

Am I missing something or is there no way to get turn by turn directions for saved Maps/Routes via My Maps in Google Maps.
The saved route shows up fine when I go to My Maps, but when I turn on directions or Nav to follow the plotted route, it just gives me the default directions/navigation from point A to point B.
Surely I'm not the first person who wants to go about a pre-plotted route?

I'm hoping I can use it like this and get rid of my Garmin so I can have one device on my moto rides.

You can't do it yet, but Google have a page somewhere listing this as a wanted feature and have stated it's the most requested feature for Navigation, so hopefully one day it'll happen.
