Google maps search broken since update for anyone else?

The search function doesn't do anything on Google Maps since today's update on my myTouch Slide. The screen just blinks briefly... I uninstalled the updates and it works again, but once I let it update it's broken again. Is this happening to anyone else?

Same thing happened to me when I upgraded to google maps 5.2.0. I no longer get search results when searching on the map. I'm using a rooted mytouch slide with cyanogen 6.1.1.

Maps 5.2.0 seems to search fine on my Evo using CM7. Maybe removing the update and reinstalling it will help.

I uninstalled the update and reverted back to 4.5.1 and the search works. I did a fresh update by powering down phone and restarting. Updated again using the market and the search still didn't work. No results were shown on the screen. Oh well for now.

How do you remove just the update and not the app? But anyway, I would rather uninstall the whole app, then switch the phone off and on, and then reinstall the app afresh from the Market.
See if that works.

Well, I've uninstalled the updates, restarted, and reinstalled them and search is still broken with the most current update...

I also had this problem, and I also removed the update to make it work again.

Uninstalling the update can be done via

Settings>Applications>Manage Settings>Google Maps.

I wasn't aware you could uninstall just an update either. I looked at a bunch of other apps, and Google Maps is the only one I found that offers that capability.

My Maps app didn't offer an upgrade, but allowed me to do it once I had searched for it in the market. I wonder if it only works with froyo, or whether Google knows there's a problem?
