Help Google Maps "Send to Device" lists duplicate devices

Strange that I just noticed this, but it seems to be a known issue that I cannot find the resolution to.

When in Google Maps on my computer, if I pull up an address, then choose to "send to device", I have 2 duplicate devices listed. I only own 1 LG G3, and am only signed into Google with that device and the computer.
If I choose the first device listed, the "Send to device" option will not work.
If I choose the second device listed, the Send to Device" options works like a charm.

How do I get rid of the "ghost" device??

I tried the suggestion by scott_mn:

gosh I would think Google would make solutions like this easier to find.... I wrestled with this for a few days, hopefully this helps someone

1. Login to your Google account
2. Click my account
3. Under sign-in & security, click device activity & notifications
4. Under recently used devices, click REVIEW DEVICES
5. Find the offending device (if dupe names, check date last used).
6. When you are sure you have the right device, click it and then click REMOVE by account access.

That removed it from my "send to device" listing on Google Maps.

but I only have one device listed and I'm a little leery of removing it, what would happen?

It's not really a big deal, but just annoying if I don't remember which device to use when "Send to Device" is used.
