Help Google Maps shows airplane icon for car navigation

I noticed recently when I fire up a car route on Google Maps, it marks my present location with an airplane icon. Is there any way to change this to a car or an arrow? I actually find it annoying to tell you the truth. I checked my settings and Googled numerous times searching for an answer but can't seem to find a way to change it. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

As a pilot, I kind of enjoy it.... it plainly has a "forward" effect to it, and the car icon is mostly just a blob.

the only other icon that I use is the triangle with the base being the "back end" or behind you.

An airplane? Not sure but could it be related to this members' issue?
