I have the Hero from sprint and google maps only gives turn by turn directions and ive seen sites where it shows it like the sprint navigation mode, while your driving.

Any help on getting me that view option?

Not sure if I completely understand your question, but I think I've got it. After you put in the source and destination and say "go", it comes up with the list of directions. There's a button called "Navigate" or something like that above the actual directions, just below the start/end point entry fields. Press that and it brings up the GPS-navigation-like-thing.

You can only do the turn-by turn navigation on Android 1.6 or higher. Isn't the Hero still on 1.5?

If you didn't apply the official 2.1 upgrade, then yes, it is on 1.5. I am assuming the OP did the upgrade to 2.1, but maybe not.

If the OP does have 2.1, jwalker87 pretty much summed up how to get turn by turn navigation.
