Google Now with Google Voice/Hangouts

When I issue a text or call command (e.g., "OK Google Now call/text [superFriend]") Google Now completes the command using my device number, even though I've got every setting I can think of set to use Google Voice (and now Hangouts).

Anyone know how I can get Google Now to send and call from my GV number?

[Similarly] I sure would like to be able to run the calendar app of my choice (instead of Google's app) when adding a calendar appointment using Google Now. My research to date suggests that this isn't currently possible.
