Google Pinyin IME can't uninstall

With my latest Playstore MyApps update list, I've suddenly got Google Pinyin IME with an Asian icon and no option to uninstall, only to Update. This appears to be about Chinese character input. Searches suggest anything I did not download and can't Uninstall is an Android system thing. I'm on Google Nexus 4 phone. If Google is the culprit, why would they force every Nexus user to carry an app we don't want or need?

I get angry when these little surprises get shoved into my machine.
The people at the stores are not helpful at all.
It seems to be a game of Whack-A-Mole sometimes.

Shhh, here's how to get rid of the little buggers:
1. Use the little gear wheel for 'Settings'.
2. Click on 'Apps'. When you get to your Apps screen, notice the words across the top 'DOWNLOADED', 'RUNNING'.
The secret is that you have to swipe these words until you get to 'ALL'. That is where you will find the annoying app along with others that have come sneaking in during the night.
3. Go down until you find 'Google Pinyin' and click it.
4. Now Click 'Disable' and 'Force Stop' then untick 'Show Notifications'.

Yeh it's a keyboard for entering Chinese characters, I often use it. So it installed itself and you can't remove it? I've never heard that happening before. Google Pinyin is the one Google app I always have to install manually and can remove it completely. This is on a Nexus and you're in Canada? Don't know what to suggest really, that's got me beat. As I said I've never had Google Pinyin installing itself, and that's on Chinese devices and I'm in China.

Google should have no reason to force Pinyin onto devices, as it's something you'll only ever need for inputting Chinese characters. It's not like say Google Music or Google Books, where they're trying to sell you something, and so have financial interest in forcing them on as many devices as possible.
