Google play app download

I had a Nokia assigned to my Google app page which I no longer use, my phone added recently is my new Honor 9x, I have been happily adding new apps to this phone, when I looked at my recent downloads I noticed they were showing up on my old Nokia which is no longer in use, how can I make sure my downloads go to my new device and not the redundant one ?

A simple way is to use the Play Store app on your phone - that installs them on the phone you are using it on, no other.

I assume that you are using the play.google.com website instead (and that this is what you mean by "my Google app page"). In which case when you click "install" you should be offered a choice of devices - it may show one as the default (and if you didn't notice and just went ahead it would install to that one), but you can select the device. If you can't see your new phone or it doesn't offer you a choice that would suggest that that phone is not associated to the Google account you are logged in to.

let me check that, I thought that was the case I did see my new phone, I clicked on it, but seems it went to the Nokia, when I go back to the app page it shows the app has already been installed how to remove?

The easy way to remove is to boot up the Nokia and uninstall the app from there.
I don't know a way where you can remotely uninstall an app (you can do it using ADB, but you need to have the phone in your hands for that). Of course if the phone is turned off then the app won't actually have installed, it will just be in a queue in Google's systems somewhere (which may eventually time out).
 
I got on the google app page last night, all apps are still there, in my apps, I formatted the Nokia after removing apps, I meant to tell you.
 
Anything you ever installed on any device will be listed in "my apps" on the Play website. You can remove them from the Play Store app - go into apps > library and you can delete them from the list. But unless you do that they'll remain forever (or until the app itself is removed from the store).

So seeing them there doesn't mean that they are installed (even if you go to one of the entries and it says "installed" - it's poor design, but that's Google).
 
Thanks, I removed account on phone and reinstalled, seems that some have disappeared.

Now my google play on the phone is unreliable, turns on once in a while,comes and goes when it feels like it.
 
Looks like they have all returned, just downloaded 4 apps to my Honor
9, they have not appeared on the phone, but are all on the my apps page on my PC, this is a really funny system to get to know.
 
Just use the Play Store app - don't bother with the website.

(The website actually works fine for me, but as your problems sound like they come from using it, and I've never seen any actual advantage from the website anyway, just using the app should be simpler).
