i just got a new samsung galaxy tab3, mostly because i wanted to read books on it. so my husband is downloading some useful applications on my tablet, only to realize that my memory is full! so we check and google play books is taking almost 3gb of my memory! how can that be? could it be the books? and if it is (which is kinda hard to believe to take almost 3gb), why didnt it go on my sd card?

Something is horribly wrong there. Depending on the book, they should be .5-2mb in my experience. 3GB would mean somewhere around 1,500 - 6000 books cached.

I would start with clearing data and cache for Play Books. Go to Settings | Apps | All | Google Play Books and you should see the buttons there. Any books you had stored on your tab will go away, buy you can resync them after. You will not have to repurchase them.

If this doesn't work, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Play Books.

I hope this gets you sorted and good luck.:)
