I recently reverted to factory settings on my rooted huawei u8185 due some problems i faced with a nonmarket app and when i rebooted google play store just wasnt there. so i downloaded an apk off the internet and installed it but every time i open it it gives an error message:"The application Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." i checked if download manager was working and it is. im clueless.

Try going into settings > apps > Google Play Services, and clear cache and data. Afterwards, check if the problem is persisting.

If it is, you may need a factory reset, and then install the Play Store again, using care to install the LATEST version, as older versions may cause issues.

As far as I know, it is very difficult to install Play store on a device or ROM that did not come with it. You need to install more than just vending.apk. Your model is listed on the Play supported devices list, but are you on the original ROM or did you put a new one in after rooting?

You might try to install an old Market APK instead of one for Play. After it's installed you might find it satisfactory, but if not it might automatically update to Play anyway.

If you need to discuss this problem further, I suggest you join us in the link in my sig file and head to the forums for your specific device.

Good luck!
