Google Play Store doesn't cooperate with my WiFi

I've tried everything suggested on other sites related to issues with the Google Play Store app but nothing works: Force Stopped Google Play (services and the store), Cleared the Data and Cache, restarted the phone, Airplane Mode to On/Off, phone has correct time/date, WiFi IP settings changed to Static, etc.

The phone is updated to 6.0.1. The WiFi is encrypted with WPA/WPA2/FT PSK. I swear the WiFi worked to download my previously installed apps from my previous phone, and the connection definitely works using Chrome and other applications except for the Play Store to get my apps.

I just got a Galaxy S6, and I've never had this issue before with my DROID DNA, but strangely enough, I opened up Google Play on my DNA phone using WiFi, and now it has stopped working, as well.

Looking to alternatives to get my apps now, for sure, though.

What exactly is the issue/symptom? Are you able to launch the play store? If so, can you browse your apps? If so, do you see the update button? If so, what happens when you click it?
What is the DNS set to on your router?

Try what tube517 has suggested.
If that doesn't clear up your problem, try using your phone's web browser and going to the Play site:
https://play.google.com/store
If you can access it via a browser at least that narrows down the problem to be the app and not being able to access the site.
If neither the Play Store app nor the browser site work, than that might indicate a DNS issue.

Unplug your router. Wait 5 minutes. Plug it back in. Reboot your phone.
Did that. Will try again and again if nothing else works.

I can access the Google Play Store using my mobile data plan, but WiFi does not load the thumbnails for the apps, nor does it let me actually download/update any apps from the Play Store. If I click on "Install" from a certain app's page, it says it's downloading, which it is not and eventually gives the error 495 screen after several minutes.

The Play Store launches with both connections, however I cannot download apps using WiFi. If I browse my apps in the store, it lists them without icons for the apps. The update button is there, but if I click it, multiple progress bars appear but nothing is downloaded, even though the downloading notification arrow appears.

What is the DNS set to on your router?
I set the DNS servers to Google's recommended public DNS addresses for IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. When running IPConfig in Command Prompt (WIN10), it verifies that these are my DNS servers, along with another labeled fe80::9610:3eff:fe71:5c%6 ... looks like that may be IPv6.

I can visit the site, and the site will attempt to download any app I choose to. However, nothing installs until I get off my WiFi network and switch to the mobile data network.

Well this used to be an issue, like almost a decade ago, but maybe try disabling IPv6 in your router. Odd that the installs will work over cellular but not WiFi.

The app store seems incompatible with the Sh*t6.

I've had my phone some time, tried all sorts of things, the app store still refuses to believe it exists, unless I access it directly.

Do me a favor - when you see the progress bars, click the 'x' to cancel (cancel the one that says "downloading"), and then, click the update button that appears. See if that makes it actually download
Also, what version of the play store is on your device?
Are you rooted? Custom ROM?

See if that makes it actually download
It does the same thing. Says "Download pending..." and the progress bar cycles through without anything actually downloading.
Play Store is version 6.4.12.C-all [0] 2744941
I am not rooted, nor have a custom ROM. Just a stock Galaxy S6 out of the box. It worked for me once when I first bought it, but the WiFi no longer connects to the Play Store. This happens on any WiFi: home, work, coffee shop, etc.

bump ... and still ongoing. Just hooked up new WiFi in a new apartment, it does the same thing. Attached are some examples of the screen when its malfunctioning. 1) The downloading screen just shows cycling progress bars without downloading anything. 2) The icons do not load, profile pic or app icons.
