Help google play store has stopped

hello all .. nice to be here .. i bought a samsung galaxy 10.1 tab for my wife and we can't get on to the google play store .. any help is appreciated .. thanks .. dave
 
Hi Dave and Welcome to Android Forums:

You could try and clear cache/data for Google Play Store app.
If that doesn't help,You may have to do a factory reset and be sure to backup all your data before hand.
 
thank you amoco .. i'm seeing a lot of chinese web pages and characters .. just wondering if there is some restrictive software also .. i'll try a factory reset .. only have a few pictures, so not much to lose ..
