Google Search bar dissapears

On my Galaxy S7, my wife's Galaxy S7 and my Galaxy Tab S, when you press the home screen to bring up the google search, you can punch in 3 or 4 words, then the keyboard and the words you typed disappear. I can duplicate it every time. Once it clears out and you start typing the search a second time, it works without issue. Any idea what is causing this? Extremely frustrating.

Have you the latest updates? I have an Edge but behavior should be the same. However behavior is not the same. I have the November patch, and the keyboard doesn't auto pop up when opening Google Search via the home button

Yes, on my Galaxy S7, it had an update this morning. I waited assuming the update would fix, but once I ran the update and it still behaved that way, I got pretty frustrated.
