Help Google Search doesn't open Chrome

Why is it that even though Chrome is set as my default browser, whenever I use the Google Search widget and open a webpage after searching something, it always opens the Samsung Internet browser instead of Chrome?

Go back into your browser settings and change your search engine to Google.

Probably clicked "always" during that prompt at one point for that particular link. The only way I know to undo it is to goto settings > apps > reset app preferences. But that resets all preferences for all apps. I don't know why there isn't a way for just one app?

There is. Settings>apps>go to app>scroll down>reset defaults.

This did not work for me. I even tried resetting all apps and set Chrome as default but Samsung Internet keeps popping up. I have had a lot of issues with this phone.
