google search issue

I have been having a problem when typing a search in Google Search on my Nexus 7 2013. Before finishing my search the query disappears. I keep trying, but I am unable to complete the search. I am very careful typing it in. This seems to happen on long search queries and is very annoying. I recently upgraded to Android 5,o and it may have been happening before in 4.4, but seems worse lately. I am running the standard Google browser and search engine, I have the standard Google keyboard and I even downloaded another keyboard, but still had the same problem. Thank you.

Weird. Maybe try clearing data and cache on the chrome browser and on the google search app. (beware... there may be some setup to get things back working after you do that).
