Google sky map and Note 4 problem

Jack Cook

When I run Google Sky Map on my Note 4, I don't see any of the functions like search at all. And when I tap with the stylus or my finger in different spots (Usually the bottom left corner, all I see are two bars and a button that lasts for about a second. The bar on the left lets me filter what I see (Like to see stars or not). The one on the bottom is the zoom bar, and there is a button on the left that lets me use manual or automatic mode.

I tried both manual and automatic modes to see if I could get the functions I needed, as well as trying to see if I could get the menu button that apps use to show other functions and no luck at all.

Is it having a problem with Note 4's, or am I just not doing something right? The only phone button I can access are the multi-window button, the home key and the back arrow, and none of them do it either. I've noticed that apps that work fine on other phones have problems and can even lock up or cause the Note 4 to crash.

Goggle did let it go, but it's being ran by someone else, and it's still called Google Sky Map. The only thing about SkEye is that it's hard to tell if they want me to tilt my phone up or down.

Hi, on my HTC One I have a setting which gives app menus with 'long-press' of the home button - it gives me a menu at the bottom of the screen with six options including 'search' and 'settings' - that's the only way I've found to bring up the menu and I see exactly the same as you with a tap on the screen ie filter, zoom and manual/auto switch.

(I'm on version 1.6.4 of Sky Maps btw)

:)

I just tried that and it brought up a Google Help screen with things like events and Google Now on it. I'll look up that phone setting to see if I can change it.

I recall reading somewhere that long-pressing the 'recent apps' button brings up app menus on the Note 4 - have you tried that?

If I enable the side key panel by going into Settings, Display and Wallpaper, One-handed operation, Side Key Panel, Enable slider, Manage Keys, Put the More Options button from the available to the Shown on Panel area. From there I can chose the More Options button to get the menus I need.

After that, I can hide it by moving it off the screen. I still don't think I should have to do all that to get menus that should be there in the first place.
