google sync settings

im new to the android and the forum

i need some help with google sync/gmail sync

i have synced my contacts once but i do not want to sync it anymore
how do i disable contacts and calender sync on my android device now?

i have an htc desire

I'm on a Droid running Froyo so I'm not sure if it's going to be exactly the same for you but try Settings->Acconuts & sync. Each account should have options for you to toggle.

Can I ask what your actual goal is with this? You'd probably need an app to schedule sync.

Well, my thinking is that the gmail app acts like push email. I am having some serious issues with battery life at the mo so i am trying to figure out ways to save some power.
