New to Androids, I downloaded Google Translate v 3.0.10 and then the offline packages for English and German. There is confirmation that this was successful.
My start up screen shows my two chosen languages (and the three small squares) right at the very top of the screen.
But,
Web pictures I have seen show that there are two other rows above this. The one immediately above the two languages shows the Translate logo on the far left, with the word "Translate" next to it and a small arrow. On the far right are the three small squares.
On the very top row there appears to be some other symbols (in blue) that I cannot make out.
I was really looking forward to trying this app on my forthcoming holiday, but am getting nowhere.
