Google TV...I'm confused

Ok so what I'm confused with is if I get a Google TV Box do I need to have a cable provider or can I just use that with HuluPlus/YouTube/Netflix/Crunchy roll?

Also it can download some apps off of Google right? Would I be able to download Skype from it and be able to say video chat from my TV If I got a web cam attachment?

Guys above are correct. No TV source needed. It can function just like a Roku.
