Google Voice and Two Phones

I have finally got my Moto G phone but currently not using it with a carrier. I have set it up with GV & Talkatone and using my old phone with Verizon phone number.

When someone calls the GV number, the Moto G will ring, but the old phone rings also. Is there a way to stop the old phone from ringing? Maybe I'm overlooking something.

I've tried different settings in GV but nothing seems to stop the old phone from ringing.

Any suggestions?

Thnx.

Have you checked out the Google voice setting from the computer? You can have different options for each device

The new phone is not showing on GV, and I make changes using the computer. How do I add the new phone?

To add another phone, I would need another active phone number other then the current one. The only other phone I could use is the wife's number, but if I used her's, I wouldn't want it to ring or anything. Is it possible to use her phone number without GV accessing it for anything once verified?

So currently incoming calls ring both the new phone (with VoIP) and the old phone (with a Verizon number), but you only want it to ring the VoIP option?

Untick whatever phone number is listed there and only leave the Google Chat option selected. Keep in mind that Talkatone will cease to work (or, at least, will no longer integrate with Google Voice) as of May.

That did it codesplice. I couldn't figure it out. I am aware Google is dropping third party support for voice. There is rumors that Hangout may take the place or offer similar type of service.

Thnx.

Cool, just as long as you know that the solution you've got now may or may not work in the future :)

Yesterday, using the Moto G & GV/Talkatone, I made call to a friend in Kentucky. We talked for over 30 mins. without any issues. No static and it didn't drop the call. Although she was on a landline. My friend said she could here me very good and I heard her very good. That is the longest I've talked to anyone using this setup.

Sometimes when I call the wife on her cell (S3), she may say there is static and sometimes she can't hear me as good. Plus we never talk more then 10 mins. or so.

I'm trying to give this setup a good work out to see how well they go together.
