Google voice help

My GF just got a new incredible about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I've been trying to set up google voice, like I have on my Incredible. Every time I try to set it up it says that "it cannot verify the phone number" after I put in the 4 digit pin in the setup. Anyone have any idea of what I can do to help it to work and actually install it for her?

from a web browser go to google.com/voice sign into the account email that she setup google voice with. at the top of the page go to settings voice settings add the number assigned to the phone (via verizon) then activate that number with google voice.
